Hello There!

Just a quick note to encourage you to check out our blog under Online Lesson Material.  It is accessible to anyone who might be interested. Today, Eloisa wrote about Practice Logs or Journals. Some of our students have not been able to continue with lessons under the current restrictions, but we want them all to still feel they have some sort of access to JAM U. We will continue to try our best to encourage any student who might stumble unto our little corner of the World Wide Web.

So, for tips on how to keep track of your practice time or motivation on how to get going, check out Eloisa's post.

Stay safe!  #togetherwecan

It Was Inevitable

We have moved 100% to remote music lessons. We know this is not an easy change and we want to thank you all for your support up to this point, and to those of you who are venturing on and continuing with us in this next chapter for JAM U. The most important thing is that we all do our part to keep our community safe and healthy. We consider part of that responsibility, keeping our students making music in any way we can.

We have created an Online Lesson Material page, in which you will eventually be able to find links to general resources, live streams, etc.  From here, you can log in to either Jason's or Eloisa's page using a password which will be given to you via email/text. In those pages you will find tracks/files you will be able to either download or stream directly from the website.

We will meet via FaceTime or Skype. Most of you have already made the transition but those who haven't yet, let us know if you have any questions.

Hope you are all staying safe. #togetherwecan

UPDATE: Covid-19

There will be no lessons this week, March 16th-20th We hope to return on Saturday the 21st. For the safety of all of our students and our family, we kindly ask that you please cancel your lesson if you are feeling unwell with any type of cold, flu, virus. We will reschedule ASAP once you have been free of symptoms for 24 hours. As many small businesses in our community, we are taking every precaution and making sure our home and teaching environment is as clean as possible in every way we can think of. The health of our students, their families and our own kids is our number one priority.

Thank you for your support and understanding. See you on the 21st (hopefully!).

A little piece of Nashville: GWYNN

GWYNN had an exceptional time in Nashville! Please go follow them on social media (Gwynn sisters) so you can hear first hand of their experiences. From our point of view as their teachers/mentors/friends/fans, we are very proud of all of their hard work! Both in preparing for this trip, during which they had the opportunity to record 3 of their original songs, as well as perform on the famous Broadway strip. They made a lot of fans along the way and even squeezed in a little time to hear and see some of what the Music City has to offer. Great job, GWYNN!

Happenings

We will be broadcasting our JAM U bands from La Casita at the end of April on our Facebook page. Working on narrowing down the date/time and will be sure to update the website with the info as soon as we have it.

On Thursday, May 2nd, our teachers Jason & Elle will be performing at The Village Jazz Series. With them, high school seniors and JAM U singers Alexandra Olin and Leilani Lopez will be performing a few tunes. Open and free to the public! Just bring a chair/blanket and enjoy an evening of beautiful music under our Arizona skies.

This year's summer concert is being tentatively planned for the end of July. We have a few merch items for sale: click here. Money from sales go towards helping us with the buying/replacing cables, stands, equipment rentals, locale, etc. We are also trying to make this a free event so we can pack the place up! :)

Is it us or is 2019 in a hurry?

With only 28 days this month, we're feeling a bit rushed around here. We have lots of things happening! Jason (guitar/bass/drums) has been busy outside of his teaching studio performing as a freelance musician for quite a bit of tribute shows. And that's in addition to his usual gigs with Eloisa "Elle" (voice/saxophone). Which reminds us, they (Jason & Elle) are performing at Julieanna's Patio Cafe this Friday, February 22nd, from 7-9 P.M. During their intermission, JAM U student and friend Kurtis Koogle will be performing as well. He's so great and talented. You're going to be impressed. Make your reservations near the music at: 928.317.1962.

Jason will be the guitarist for the Conway Twitty & Loretta Lyn Tribute. March 8. Follow the link for information and tickets.

Both Jason and Eloisa will be performing in "The King in Concert" (and Elvis Tribute). March 15. Click here to purchase your tickets right now!

Eloisa is also the guest conductor for the Honor Choir at the Festival of Excellence this year. Concert to be held at Woodard Jr. High on Saturday, March 9th at 4:00 P.M. Mr Brandon Coz, music director at YC and Yuma Co. drummer extraordinarie is the guest conductor for the honor band. Brandon's daughter and lovely singer, miss Taylor Coz will be singing a solo alongside equally lovely miss Avery Watley at the concert. Hope you can join us. ALL the kids and all of their respective teachers throughout our city middle schools are working very hard to put this together. We are honored to be a part of it this year via our own voice coach.

The darling and also talented Gwynn sisters have been busy all throughout town. You might've seen them at the Military Appreciation event downtown just this past weekend. Follow them on social media or visit their webpage to see where they'll be next: www.gwynnmusic.com. As a side note from Eloisa, Kylie was selected to be in the Honor Choir for the before mentioned Festival of Excellence and will be featured on guitar on one of the songs. We can't wait!

Last but not least, let us remind you once again that we have our JAM U Senior Night Concert coming up REALLY soon! Thursday, February 28th. 7:00 P.M. at the Yuma Civic Center. FREE and open to the public! Friends and family are all welcome as well as those of you who may not know us but...would like to? Come check out these awesome, talented young musicians. They truly do rock and we love them to pieces. You will too! Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. Just follow the signs to the East Wing. Oh, donations will be accepted and will be split amongst our girls as a farewell to college gift. Mostly, we really want a room full of an appreciative, responsive audience, so come ready to hoot and holler! :)

We know we just threw a bunch of dates and links at 'ya. You can click on SHOWS at the top of the page and it should show you all that's happening around here related to our students in order. You can also visit jasonandelle.com to see what's going on with our teachers.

Hope to see/hear you around!
